Hens, chocolate bars and more at Jungspund festival for young audiences

Jungspund – Theatre Festival for Young Audiences will have its second edition in 2020. The festival takes place from 27 February to 7 March in the Swiss city of St. Gallen.

The programme is made up of eleven shows across dance, music, theatre and puppetry. Three of the shows will make their world premiere at the festival.

Notable shows are Die Wöterfabrik (The Word Factory), a musical theatre piece for ages five and up; a clownish performance on the problems of jealousy titled Schoggiläbe – Teilen Ist Bitter (Chocolate Bars – Sharing is Bitter); and Die Henne Ida Und Pilat Das Eichhölnchen (The Hen Ida and Pilat the Squirrel), a piece about the power of friendship between two outsiders.

ASSITEJ – the professional association for the promotion and development of professional children’s and youth theatre in Switzerland – will also run a programme during Jungspund. Debates, talks and exchange sessions are on offer.

Finally, on four evenings JungSpundBänd will give post-show performances.
