Talented names from Broadway and Hollywood are set to join leading Australian artists at this year’s Adelaide Cabaret Festival.
Taking place in June, this year’s event aims to go beyond the realms of traditional cabaret, under the theme ‘Not Your Usual Suspects’.
The line-up includes: Australian musical theatre performer Anthony Warlow and Tony Award winner Faith Prince, performing Broadway classics with a 30-piece orchestra; Lift Up Your Skirt, a semi-autobiographical show by Hollywood comic actress Kathy Najimy; a cappella group The King’s Singers; and Vandemonian Lags, a work exploring Tasmanian convict history.

It’s the final year that singer Kate Ceberano will serve as artistic director of the festival. Commenting on the programme, she said: ‘ If there was a collective noun for this group of cabaret performers it would surely be an ‘inspiration’ of cabaret artists. Over the last two Cabaret Festivals we have delighted in the widest possible definition of the genre and 2014 will be no exception.’
The full line-up can be found here. Adelaide Cabaret Festival runs from 6-21 June.
