The Performing Arts Managers and Agents Coalition (PAMAC) has launched a new campaign to advocate for arts relief in the US. PAMAC is asking the US Government to provide funding to help the arts survive the COVID-19 crisis.
The PAMAC campaign has two main elements. The first is the #artsinterrupted social media message, which it is asking arts organisations to share. The post comes with the message “imagine the world without the arts” and a screen test pattern.
The second element is a change.org petition, which has almost 15,000 signatures. It has been signed and shared by artists including Gemma New, Felicia Day, Wynton Marsalis, Christian Reif and James Gaffigan.
“Congress is days away from reviewing the final stimulus bill for COVID-19 relief and we feel it is crucial to help raise awareness that the arts has been interrupted in such a devastating way and if no action is taken, our industry may not recover,” said a PAMAC spokesperson. “We want to send a message that we are all standing in solidarity on this vital issue.”
PAMAC members include Alliance Artist Management, Primo Artists, KMP Artist Management, Latitude45 Arts Promotion and IMG Artists.
