CIF issues strategic priorities

The Creative Industries Federation (CIF) – the independent organisation that represents the UK creative sector – has issued three strategic priorities for the year ahead. They are: creative careers and skills; entrepreneurship and growth; EU and international.

“The Federation is already hard at work planning an exciting array of projects to kick off our new priorities,” said CIF in a press release. “These include the launch of our creative careers campaign to showcase the richness and diversity of creative careers, a hackathon, and our second International Summit which will convene creatives from around the world.”

Other planned initiatives include a creative industries toolkit for schools; a report on diversity and inclusion in the sector; and a report on the finance and funding landscape ahead of the 2019 Spending Review.

To keep track of progress made in each category, CIF has added a timeline feature to its website that “provides a snapshot of CIF’s key activity across each area”.

Upcoming CIF events are the next meeting of its Brexit Working Group (5 June, London) and two sessions looking at the creative sector in Bristol (20 and 21 June). CIF’s second International Summit takes place on 9 October at the Barbican.
