The European Festivals Association’s (EFA) Atelier for Young Festival Managers 2015 will be held in Gwangju, South Korea, the second time Asia has hosted the event.
Around 10 international directors will guide at least 45 global participants through seven days of leadership training, centred on the artistic role of festivals.
Ateliers aim to share experience and knowledge with the next generation of festival makers, with lectures and talks tackling creation and co-production, public responsibility, internationalisation and artistic vision.
From 31 August 2015, Atelier Gwangju will coincide with the inauguration of the new Asian Culture Complex (ACC) and Asian Arts Theatre, a government-funded centre delivered in close collaboration with Chonnam National University.
Applications to attend must be submitted by 12 January.
