Adelaide Fringe 2020 releases sneak peek of programme

Adelaide Fringe 2020 has announced the first release of shows for 2020, which will include the return of Marcia Hines’ disco hit, Velvet Rewired. The festival will run from 14 February to 15 March 2020.

The four-week long festival opens its city to multi-genre programmes including music, dance, theatre, cabaret and interactive performances. Adelaide Fringe will also showcase the circus-cabaret Blanc de Blanc Encore, directed by Scott Maidment and the interactive NERF gun gaming show, FortNite’ Battle Royale Live.

Director and CEO Heather Croall said: “This first release of shows is a diverse representation of the calibre of artists Adelaide Fringe attracts each year. These first four shows have really set the stage for what will undoubtedly be a very special 60th year of Adelaide Fringe.”

Established in 1960, the festival is the second largest annual arts festival which features more than 5,000 artists from around Australia and the world, including contemporary work in art, cabaret, comedy, circus and physical theatre.

Adelaide Fringe aims to attract more visitors by extending its ticketing system which will allow guests to have access to a rolling-on-sale function. Added Croall: “The new facet to the Adelaide Fringe ticketing system gives arts lover and artists more time to plan and organise their overall Fringe experience.”

The full fringe programme will be made available on 28 November.
